Welcome back to school!
Hello DFES Family!
It is almost time for the school year to start. I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and that you have gotten the chance to read lots of great books!
I certainly spent a lot of my time reading…I just finished a book called Wenny Has Wings by Janet Lee Carey. This book is about a boy whose sister has died. He writes to her in his journal and this book is his letters to her. I know it sounds very sad, but there are some funny parts too. This is a good book for 4th grade and up. I have also read lots of books about buying and selling a home this summer, because my husband and I are doing just that! I don’t normally read so much non-fiction, so it has been a nice change, but I always love to lose myself in a fiction book. I hope to update this blog often about the books I am reading. Please join me by adding what you are reading!
The DFES Library Media Center will be an exciting place this year! There will be an intern from USC, Ms. Paula Jutkiewicz. We will have our annual summer reading celebration with breakdancers! Book fair will be in November, we will have an author visit in February, and so much more! Stay tuned to The Book Blog, The Cub Reporter, and teacher classroom newsletters for more details on all the fun and exciting events this year.
